A prayer filled heart is a peaceful heart.

Grace and peace to you dear friends,

Do you battle with worry and anxiety on a regular basis? If so then I think you're being overly critical of your self and unjustifiably anxious. No where in the Bible is worry and anxiety ever presented as a positive thing. Most of the time I think that God sees it as a form of idolatry because we are putting our faith in ourselves and our abilities instead if Him. I don't know about you but I never have enough of me to go around. No matter how hard I try, in my own strength, I just don't measure up. Whatever the case may be for you, all I can say is that God's Word not only gives us the key to over coming our fear, worries and anxieties but it Commands us to that end. So stop it!
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6-7

The Word of God can be confusing at times but this is clear. Our prayer life determines our level of worry free peace and not just any peace but awesome, undeserved freedom from anxiety. We must train ourselves to start with prayer "in everything". That means that NOTHING is to insignificant that God doesn't want to hear about it. Just as nothing can be to big of a problem, nothing can be to small for God to be involved in. We should desperately seek Him and His promises when we're overcome with worry or fear. However, we're told to be on the offensive here. Don't wait until you're trapped to fight. Living with an attitude of true prayerful thankfulness is going to be easier than always being on the defense. I know you most likely already know what I'm saying here but how often do we have to hear things before we really apply them and walk in them.

Lets start walking this path together. Pray this verse above for yourself and your families.  Holding out great hope that the grace of God might stir up your hearts affections for Him and cause a fresh new desire for that sweet fellowship that comes through genuine prayer.
For the Joy of Your Faith,
Teagan
