Grace and peace to you my friends,
Do you find yourself secretly crying out to God in your heart, "why O Lord are you letting me be over whelmed beyond what I can bear? Why are you letting me be crushed by my circumstances?" If you find your self here take heart, because even David despaired for his life at times.
" O LORD, how many are my foes!
Many are rising against me;
many are saying of my soul,
there is no salvation for him in God. Selah
But you, O LORD, are a shield about me,
my glory, and the lifter of my head.
I cried aloud to the LORD,
and he answered me from his holy hill. Selah"
Psalm 3:1-4 ESV
Look closely though and see how he responded to his own desperation. He reminded himself that the Lord almighty was his protector and comfort. He knew that, "you, O LORD, are a shield about me," and that the Lord "answered me". These brought hope and comfort for him. Do you know God that way? Is your relationship with Him a close one? Can you readily fall back on His promises and power in times of distress? Regardless of the answer to those questions, there is always room for each of us to grow closer to our Saving Lord and more steadfast in the knowledge of His promises. My friends there is great comfort and hope waiting for us in the promises of God's Word. How can we enjoy the fruit of His Word if we don't make listening to Him speak a priority in our daily lives?
"Father God forgive me for my lack of effort to spend time in your presence. Help me Lord God. I want to know you more. I want to grow in the knowledge of your Word and the hope of your promises. Fill my heart precious Savior with a fresh desire for the beauty of your presence. You alone are worthy of my praise and devotion. Be honored O God as I learn to trust you more and more through a growing faith in the truth of your Word. For the Glory and Honor of Jesus name I pray. Amen"
For the Joy of Your Faith,
Teagan
