Grace and peace to you my friends,
Good day precious children. This morning there are a few of you especially weighing on my mind. You are fretting and anxious clinging to tightly to the trouble of your situation instead of confidently holding the eternal arms of your faithful Savior. So today is a good day to be reminded that our Great God is all wise and good. He has all things in His hands, including you and your unique circumstances, whether they be good in your eyes or not. The Bible would never talk about God as our Fortress, Refuge and Rock if we never needed Him to be that for us. Are you letting Him be your protection in these storms or are you standing outside the gates trying to fend off the onslaught with the limp noodle that is your own strength and wisdom?
" For you are my rock and my fortress;
and for your name's sake you lead me and guide me;
you take me out of the net they have hidden for me,
for you are my refuge.
Into your hand I commit my spirit;
you have redeemed me, O LORD, faithful God."
Psalm 31:3-5 ESV
Loved ones, your God is faithful. Notice in this passage that God is leading, guiding and protecting you for the Glory of His own name. He's not waiting for you to be good enough or strong enough before He does His part. This is one of the great themes in the Bible, we can't do it on our own, only with God working through us can we accomplish any thing worth while.
The last thought I have for you is a math quiz. Get your calculator out and figure out how many minutes you have been alive. Yes I'm serious. There are 525,600 minutes in a year so multiply that times how old you are and you'll get your answer. This is going to be a really big number no matter how old you are, I'm approximately 17.9million minutes old. Now I want you to use it in a prayer similar to this one.
"Father God help me to trust you, "for you are my refuge". You have proven your self to me over and over never having let me down, never having let me be crushed beyond my limits. Not once in all 17.9 million minutes of my life so help me to be confident in your goodness during the next 1. "For you are my rock and my fortress" and "Into your hand I commit my spirit" because "you have redeemed me, O LORD" my "faithful God". For the great Glory of your name oh God I pray, Amen."
The score says it all 17.9 milion mintues of faithfulness versus zero minutes having let me down. I think He's got the next one, don't you?
For the Joy of Your Faith,
Teagan
WOW! What a great way to look at God's faithfulness!
ReplyDelete27.85 million: number of minutes God's been faithful to me thus far
Zero: number of minutes of Him letting me down
Priceless: In God, I win! The enemy's a loser and he knows it!
Yup, He's got my next minute! And the one after that and the one after that...you get the picture!
Thanks for this insight!
