Grace and peace to you my friends,
" I sought the LORD, and he answered me
and delivered me from all my fears.
Those who look to him are radiant,
and their faces shall never be ashamed."
Psalm 34:4-5 ESV
What a statement. It sounds so simple doesn't it? Just seek the Lord and be delivered from all your fears and never again be ashamed. However, in the reality we live in our sinful flesh gets in the way of our seeking the Lord doesn't it? We don't have to let it though because there is much that we can do to improve our efforts to seek the Lord God.
There's a strategy repeatedly demonstrated in the Bible that can improve our defenses against any foe, fleshly or spiritual that would stand between our hearts and God. It's called knowledge and repetition. First we need to grow in our understanding of who God is and what He has said by repeatedly digging into His Word and mining it for all it has to offer us. Secondly we must never give up in our attempts to seek Him, repeat, repeat, repeat. If you fail in the morning, try again at midday, if you fail at midday, try again in the afternoon, if that doesn't work either try again at bedtime. You get the picture right, repetition, repetition, repetition. Never give up, never stop trying. The more you train your mind and body to do some thing the better you will get at it. Just ask any Olympic athlete. It's important for us to keep this in mind because the Bible is clear that we will be held accountable for the effort or lack thereof that we put into seeking Him.
Friends, God promises joy, peace and contentment for the true Christ follower who gives it their all to seek after and live like their King the Lord Jesus Christ. Are you living fearlessly and content or are you still afraid? Afraid of people, opinions, things you don't understand, yourself, maybe just afraid of the dark, whatever it is you don't have to be afraid my friends because the Father God answered the Psalmist's plea and He'll answer yours as well. Seek Him out my friends, then do it again and after that repeat, repeat, repeat.
For the Joy of Your Faith,
Teagan
