The promise of forgiveness.

Grace and peace to you my friends,

Blessed is the one whose transgression is forgiven,
        whose sin is covered.
    Blessed is the man against whom the LORD counts no iniquity,
        and in whose spirit there is no deceit.
    For when I kept silent, my bones wasted away
        through my groaning all day long.
    For day and night your hand was heavy upon me;
        my strength was dried up as by the heat of summer. Selah
    I acknowledged my sin to you,
        and I did not cover my iniquity;
    I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the LORD,”
        and you forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah
"
Psalm 32:1-5 ESV

My friends, how great a promise to know that our loving Savior will cleanse us of all our iniquity, our sin, if we simply confess it to Him. Not only are we washed clean of our sin but we are promised blessedness, happiness in Him, joy. Rejoice therefore, my friends if indeed you have acknowledged your sin and not sought to hide it from the piercing gaze of the Father. No one who seeks to hide their sin will enter the eternal blessing of the Lord but instead shall suffer the weight of His wrath and judgement.

"Father God use your Word and the loving support of those around us, to open our eyes to the sin hiding in our hearts, our actions and in our attitudes. Forgive us Lord God and give us the strength to humble our hearts before You as we confess our transgressions. In you we hope and trust for you have promised forgiveness and blessing. Fill us with the joy of knowing that our sin is covered and that we stand before You in the beauty of Christ's righteousness. By your grace I pray that we may never cease to be amazed and in awe of the greatness of your love for your people. You alone Lord God are worthy to be praised for ever and ever. In Jesus name, Amen."

Truly I say, "Blessed" are you, "whose sin is covered" and not counted against you. Rejoice and be glad, for God in Jesus Christ has set you free!

For the Joy of Your Faith and the promise of forgiveness,
Teagan
