Grace and peace to you my friends,
" O LORD, make me know my end
and what is the measure of my days;
let me know how fleeting I am!
Behold, you have made my days a few handbreadths,
and my lifetime is as nothing before you.
Surely all mankind stands as a mere breath! Selah"
Psalm 39:4-5 ESV
How often do we pray like that? How many of us truly live with the understanding that our time here, though brief, is priceless. Evey moment an opportunity to honor or dishonor our Creator. The weight of ultimate reality is that each temporary fleeting moment here stores up eternal reward for us. Either we're storing up treasure in heaven or torture in hell. There is no neutral middle ground where you can stand trying to figure out which side you want to be on.
What would our lives look if we truly trusted God's Word and took it to heart when it speaks of our time here in relation to eternity. Eternity is just that, eternity, and this brief, temporary moment that we spend on this side of it is nothing in comparison. That said, our time here has infinite value because only our time here and how we use it will determine how we spend our time there.
Dear friends spend a few brief moments today engaging your Lord in conversation and seek wholeheartedly an understanding of the value and brevity of your time left on this Earth to make a difference in the life to come. May the Lord God be gracious to you and bless you as you seek to understand and grow.
What kind of reward did the last 60 seconds store up for you and what will the next 60? Think about it, pray about it and live it out for the glory of God and His Kingdom to come.
For the Joy of Your Faith,
Teagan
