Be glad you're a broken pot.

Grace and peace to you,

"    For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us." 2 Corinthians 4:6-7 ESV

Today as I read this passage I was struck with the thought, "I'm glad I'm just a broken clay pot, because if I was a beautiful Ming vase or some thing the like, I would no doubt be spent trying to draw more attention to myself than the treasure in the pot." So praise God that He has purposed to make Himself know through the use of broken pots. The New Testament is quite clear in it's teaching that we are not adequate nor up to the task of bringing Christ to the world, let alone do any thing pleasing to God. But Hallelujah, the teaching is also clear that in Christ even a broken pot can be made useful.

Friends, do not despair when you run into the limitations of your brokenness. Instead, celebrate the grace and mercy of God that He would use such a cracked pot, for His good pleasure.

For the Joy of Your Faith,
Teagan
