Glory beyond all compare.

Grace and peace to you my friends,

"Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, bright as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb through the middle of the street of the city; also, on either side of the river, the tree of life with its twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit each month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. No longer will there be anything accursed, but the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and his servants will worship him. They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. And night will be no more. They will need no light of lamp or sun, for the Lord God will be their light, and they will reign forever and ever." Revelation 22:1-5 ESV"

"They will see his face", isn't that just amazing. When we are brought home to Heaven we are going to get to look on God with real eyes and interact with Him in our very real, very permanent, sinless resurrected body. That thought alone is just stunning to me. Sure, we interact with God right now, but mostly it's in more of a spiritual sense. However, in heaven there will no longer be any veil of sin between us and God so we will finally be able to see what our heart knew all along, that He is glorious and beautiful. Oh how I long for that day to come, do you?

Praise be to the Father God for the beautiful picture of our future home. He alone is worthy of our praise and adoration and how much more when we finally stand before Him in a new land. A land where sin and death are no more, a land flowing with the splendor of a perfect, curse-less creation. Friends, it's this view of God's face, His presence and the promised future home, that Paul likely has in mind when he says,

"For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison," 2 Corinthians 4:17 ESV

Now that we've seen a brief but beautiful glimpse of the incomparable Glory that is ours in Christ, we should be better equipped to persevere through all that this cursed world can deal out to us. My hope and prayer for you, friends, is that this brief overview lately has helped to cast a firm picture of your future hope. The better we understand what's to come, the stronger our hope to endure through the "light momentary affliction[s]" of life. In Christ our future is secure and our hope is strong. So, walk through the hills and valleys with confidence, my friends. Along the way, be sure to share the joy and treasure that Christ is for us, now and in the future.

For the Joy of Your Faith and the Hope of Your future Home,
Teagan
