grace and peace to you my friends,
"But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God." John 1:12-13 ESV
We have spent a few days looking ahead to the Glory of heaven and the joy of our confidence in our future homeland. I hope that it was as encouraging for you as it was for me to put it together. Today though I want you to see from this passage in John 1 why we can be so confident and sure. It's because our right to enjoy the benefits of God's promises does not rely on our ability to perform or meet a standard to earn our way in. The responsibility falls completely upon God the Father. To all who have submitted them selves to the authority of Christ and believed on His name, God has "gave the right to become children of God". It is in our becoming a true child of God, that our hope lies. As children of God we have been declared righteous in His sight, therefore we can now be brought into His Holy presence. The other right we have as a child of God is that we are made heirs with Christ. Meaning that we to shall share in His eternal inheritance of all things. No doubt this is a very simple and condensed explanation of the Bible's description of our position in Christ but I hope it gets my point across. The reason fallen, sin cursed mortals like us can have any real hope or confidence is because we have placed it in some thing far superior to ourselves.
So praise be to God the Father, for He is faithful and true and the rock solid foundation of our faith and Hope.
For the Joy of Your Faith,
Teagan
