Grace and peace to you my friends,
" Preserve me, O God, for in you I take refuge.
I say to the LORD, “You are my Lord;
I have no good apart from you."
" You make known to me the path of life;
in your presence there is fullness of joy;
at your right hand are pleasures forevermore."
Psalm 16:1-2&11 ESV
This morning as I was reading the Word and preparing to write today's post I found myself praying for you guys and afterwards felt that instead of trying to write comments for today's passage I should simply share the heart theme of that prayer. So I pray you are blessed today to know that the Lord hears His people and is working in your life for your good. May He richly bless you my friends as you continue to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
"Heavenly Father, Lord and King you are the source and end of all our joy and hope and "in you I take refuge" you alone have clearly made "known to me the path of life". Praise and honor be unto your name forever oh Lord for you have made me to see and know the joy of your goodness.
This morning, as I read your words from the Psalmist, my heart ached for those I know who can not sincerely claim these verses as their own. So I ask Lord God that your Spirit would convict their hearts, moving them to see the hopelessness of their current path. Help them Father to see that you are the one true Refuge and Hope that they need. For I know deep down they long for the peace and comfort that only you can give. Help them to stop trusting in their own strength and wisdom and instead look to you and your everlasting Word. For it is you Lord God who can "make known" to them "the path of life". Oh that you would help them to see the worth and value of "your presence", that they might desire to know the "fullness of joy" which you have promised. It's true my Lord, that "at your right hand are pleasures forevermore" and I long and pray that all whose eyes find this page might desire to know that pleasure as well as the greatness and glory of your presence. You alone, Lord God, are my refuge and hope and my hearts desire today is that you would open the eyes of their hearts to see and understand that only you Mighty God can satisfy their hearts deepest longings. Take them farther than simply understanding though and lead them into the eternal experience that is, You.
For the Joy of their Faith I pray precious Jesus, Amen."
