Some trust in chariots

Grace and peace to you my friends on this fine Sunday morning,

"    Some trust in chariots and some in horses,
but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.
"
Psalm 20:7 ESV

Are you trusting in anything other than your God this morning? Do you look to those around you for joy, satisfaction and purpose? Friends, don't get caught up in praising those who assist us in battle, and giving credit to the tools of our victory. Doing so can only lead us astray, missing the grand designer behind it all.

God often uses the loved ones around us to encourage us, to help us, and to remind us of our purpose in life, but it is still God who deserves the credit and honor. He alone can save us and use us to accomplish His good will. We are guaranteed disappointment and frustration if the end of our hope lies in anything short of the Creator God.

"Some trust in chariots and some in horses", horses and chariot may well help to bring about the victory on the field of battle but if they do, it is because the Lord God Almighty has used them to accomplish His purposes. So, let us keep our hearts and minds focused clearly on Him who is worthy of our attention, hope and trust.

This morning, I pray that you too, along with the Psalmist, might proclaim, that though "Some trust in chariots and some in horses," as the end and source of their hope and strength "but we trust in the name of the LORD our God." for only He can bring about victory. Amen.

My friends, fight well the fight of faith.  Use the tools God has provided you.  Fight for your joy, for your hope, and for your treasure because many are they who would snatch them from you. Our enemies are not flesh and blood, but our allies are. Let us encourage and help one another on to holiness and victory to the praise and glory of our Great God.

For the Joy of Your Faith,
Teagan
