Grace and peace to you my friends,
" O LORD my God, in you do I take refuge;
save me from all my pursuers and deliver me,
lest like a lion they tear my soul apart,
rending it in pieces, with none to deliver.
O LORD my God, if I have done this,
if there is wrong in my hands,
if I have repaid my friend with evil
or plundered my enemy without cause,
let the enemy pursue my soul and overtake it,
and let him trample my life to the ground
and lay my glory in the dust. Selah"
Psalm 7:1-5 ESV
I love looking at Davids life for encouragement. He had some big time blunders, yet he knew how to repent and return to the feet of the Lord God he served. We can learn a lot from his mistakes but I want us to notice one of his strengths today. David knew, that once he was back in a right standing relationship with his Creator, that he had nothing to fear or be judged for from his God. This confidence, as well as a firm faith in the promises of God, made him a true hero of the faith for us to look up to.
Do you have a clear conscience before God? Could you shout from the hilltops like David, if I have wronged my enemy, let him come and destroy me? If not, take time right now to bear your heart to God and run to Him like the refuge He is. His Word promises that there is nothing for us to fear in the way of judgement if our conscience and guilt have been cleansed by the blood of the Lamb.
Friends, study Davids example and learn to throw yourself onto the mercy and grace of our great God. Just like David, you can learn to have an unshakeable confidence in the solid rock of God's Word. God's power to sustain and satisfy you awaits in His Word. It is there alone that a strength and confidence like Davids can be found.
"Father God, thank you for your Word and for your loving kindness. Thank you for all the examples in your Word for us to learn from and be encouraged by. Lord God I thank you for Jesus Christ and every thing that He is for us, restoration, forgiveness and new life. Refresh our spirit Lord with the water of your Word and fill us with a renewed longing for the treasures therein. You alone are GOD Almighty and You alone are the only wise God. All thanks and praise be to you, our confidence and hope. Amen"
For the Joy of Your Faith,
Teagan
