Grace and peace to you my friends,
"I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” " John 16:33 ESV
"I have overcome the world." is that not what we all celebrated on Easter two days ago? Indeed Christ has conquered sin and death and every other nasty thing that might set itself up against God. We no longer need to fear the powers of this fallen world nor the master Deceiver Satan. For just as Christ has over come these powers, so we who are the body of Christ in the world stand victorious. Sin and death should no longer have sway in our hearts. Can they still tempt and frighten us? Yes, when we are week and begin doubting the goodness and promises of our God, they will creep in causing pain and wreak havoc in our lives until we stop doubting and put our full faith back where it belongs, in the power of God and His faithfulness to do all that He has said. We know that our lives here in this world will not be free from pain and trial because Christ Himself said so, "In the world you will have tribulation." However, because of Christ Jesus and His finished work on the cross we can have peace in this life. Peace, comfort and assurance because we are Christ's and He is ours.
"take heart" He said, meaning do not fear or doubt but instead be filled with joy and peace because you believe that Jesus has done all that He said he would and that He can and will do all that He said He would. All for us His people so that we can be wholly reunited with our God and enjoy His presence forever in His coming heavenly kingdom.
Friends, is there doubt creeping in to your heart today causing you to question God and be fearful or anxious? Loved ones, fight back with the very Word that the deceiver is making you question. Christ told us "in me you may have peace". Do you really believe that? If so,"take heart" and fear not for you, just as Christ, stand victorious over the powers of this world. Stand fast my friends and believe that the power and purpose of God shall never fail you and never leave you. The grave is empty, our Lord is alive and fullness of joy awaits you in the presence of your God.
He has spoken it, so let your heart not waiver. For He is and always will be and on that you can stand fearless and sure.
I feel like I've rambled around my point but I "take heart" knowing that my God is able to use my broken mind share the truth with a heart that needs it. Whoever you are today, be blessed precious child of the King.
For the Joy of Your Faith,
Teagan
